The Heisman High School Scholarship presented by Acceptance Insurance is your chance to recognize well-rounded senior men and women who learn, perform, and lead on a daily basis. And we’ve made it easier than ever before to refer your high achievers. Simply follow the steps below.
Your school can have an unlimited number of applicants. Talk to all seniors who excel academically, athletically, and within your community, and encourage them to apply for the Heisman High School Scholarship presented by Acceptance Insurance. Direct students to this site for program details and the online application. Be sure to encourage your students to complete their applications early so that school officials will have plenty of time to carefully review the applications while allowing enough time to work with those students who need to correct and resubmit their applications.
Each applicant must select one school official to review his/her application. The reviewer must be a teacher, counselor, or administrator at the student’s school and cannot be related to the student.
If a student selects you as a reviewer, make sure the student has your full name and correct email address—he or she will need to enter this information on the online application. After your student completes and submits the application, you will receive an email from email@example.com within 24 hours. Please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book or safe list so the email will not be blocked by a spam filter.
The email will contain instructions for logging into the online application. If more than one student chooses you as a reviewer, you will receive a separate email for each student you need to review.
To review the application, log into the system via the instructions in your email. Carefully review the application for completeness and accuracy by navigating through each section of the application using the next and previous buttons.
If you determine that a student needs to make changes, select the box indicating you do not certify its contents are accurate within the reviewer questions section of the application. Then complete the field where you can include a description of the issue you have identified. The information you include will be shared with the student so they can correct the error. After explaining what the student needs to correct, click on Submit. We will alert the student that their application needs adjusted. Once the student adjusts their application, you will need to re-review their application by going through the same process described above.
After you have navigated through the student’s application and confirmed its accuracy, check the box that certifies its contents are accurate and complete and then click on Submit.
Don’t forget—you must approve all applications no later than October 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET.
