Support is a family tradition—one he shares with others however he can.

For Sean Rausch, success begins with his family. Sean’s dad was his coach when he started playing competitive sports at the age of five, and his mom has always been his biggest cheerleader, rooting from the sidelines along with Sean’s grandparents, and his older sister and younger brother. Each family member has played a role in supporting Sean and helping him excel on the field, ace even his most challenging academic courses, and achieve a perfect 800 SAT score in math. Although the family has faced its share of hardships, they’ve always found ways to pull together and come through difficult situations as a team.

Grateful for this critical source of support in his life, Sean works hard to give something back to his peers. He’s a strong believer in the power of teams in sports as well as in academics and fundraising. And he is often seen as the leader of the many teams in which he participates. As captain of his football team, he not only led his squad to two division championships and a Class 1 Long Island Championship; he is also responsible for championing the memory of a friend and teammate who was tragically killed in a jet ski accident. Under Sean’s direction, his teammates wear memorial bracelets and have dubbed their team the “Dom Squad,” playing and winning in memory of their friend.

Despite winning often both on the field and off, Sean contends that sometimes you have to lose to fully appreciate the thrill of the win. He believes in the value of hard work, and whatever he does, he continually pushes himself to do his best and achieve all that he can.
